Back to School with the Class of Web 2.0: Part 3

Back to School with the Class of Web 2.0: Part 3: "During the last few weeks I have researched possible scenarios and real case studies of Web 2.0 in education in hopes to show others where we are with today’s education and where it could be. The article covers: educational blogging, photo sharing, educational podcasting, wikis, video sharing, Web 2.0 courses, School 2.0, and more. "

This was a great article from the guy at Solution Watch who looked at some of the great new web applications out there that benefit learning. Some highlights include student testimonials on blogging and also great feedback on wikis.

It really goes to show what untapped potential there is out there and how it is our responsibility (and firstly mine as tech. coordinator) to get these into teachers' and students' hands (minds). If we are not using these we are missing out. I can't help but think that there was a time when people felt the same way about a chalk board or an OHP or cooperative learning. They were great ideas and teachers thought, "I've got to start doing that." The rate of new things that come out technologically is what is daunting. We used to have time to get in on new things, try them out, perfect using them. Now availability is so good that your own limitations are finding out about them and your own imagination (or mine in this case) of how to use them.
